NoiseFilter is a Chrome extension that helps users critically analyze news articles using AI. This privacy policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights as a user.
When you click "Analyze page" in the extension, NoiseFilter reads the text content of the active tab (the news article you are reading) and sends it to our server for AI analysis. We do not store this text after the analysis is complete.
The extension stores the following data locally on your device using Chrome's storage:
NoiseFilter does not collect or store:
The article text is sent to Anthropic's Claude API solely for the purpose of generating the analysis you requested. The analysis is then returned to your browser and displayed in the side panel.
The local data stored on your device is used to provide the free tier, badges, and subscription functionality. This data never leaves your device.
NoiseFilter uses the following third-party services:
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. The only data transmitted is the article text you choose to analyze, which is sent to Anthropic's API for processing.
The article text is processed in real-time and is not stored on our servers after the analysis is complete. Locally stored data on your device remains until you uninstall the extension or clear your browser data.
You can clear all locally stored data at any time by removing the extension from Chrome. If you have subscribed and want to cancel, you can do so through your Lemon Squeezy account.
NoiseFilter is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
